On Squats! Everyone needs a little squat in their life!

Hey there fit pham!

So someone brought up a great topic earlier that I want to mention to everyone! Because sharing is caring right? hehe! I know I always love reading tips and tidbits from other people! So here ya go!

On Squats:

I posted a video of the super squat machine (below), and this is a great tool to strengthen your legs and improve your squat form! Everyone can use this machine, and everyone can do squats too! :D It's all about proper form.

Tips for this machine:

  • Your feet need to stay grounded (feet flat at all times) and drive through the heels when you come up just like in a regular squat.
  • Back stays straight and your should feel the tension in your legs (glutes, and hams too!), not your back!
  • This machine is also perfect for going below parallel, but don't push it if you're just starting out!

Ladies DO NOT be afraid of machines like this or heavy weight!
I was for the longest time and only ended up hurting myself in terms of progress that could've happened!

So let's talk about a regular squat. Those have the same basic principles! And believe me...I know how it feels to get frustrated, give up, not lift heavy doing these, and actually be AFRAID (yes afraid) of going heavy on these. You know why? Because I blamed my scoliosis and was afraid of hurting myself. Completely logical...but in the same sense, not doing something because of fear doesn't make you better at it. Ya know? Anyways...

On regular squats:

Again ANYONE can do these! Do not be afraid! *eh-hem: LADIES!* ;)

But with Barbell, dumbbells, or weights of any sort; here are a few form principles to keep in mind:

  •  If going heavy, a rack and spotter would be very helpful for safety reasons!
  • Approach the bar with a straight back, chest up because this will prep you to lift it (you know those pro-bodybuilders who puff their chests out and "prep" to come up to the bar...it sets you up for correct form! :D a friend taught me that)
  • When you are ready to lift it, lift with your legs, keeping your back straight. DO NOT roll your shoulders forward while lifting the bar off the rack.
  • Have your feet shoulder width apart, keep your head up (eyes forward), a straight back to start the lift
  • To execute, lower slowly with the back straight (like in my video with the super squat), butt poked out not rolled under/inwards, keeping your knees in line with your feet, lower to 90 degrees or below.
  • Always DRIVE THROUGH THE HEELS for this exercise in any form-- sumo, narrow, one leg, split, smith, you name it!

If you don't then, yes you could throw yourself off balance, be at risk of hurting yourself, or cause undue stress on other body parts to say the least and ain't nobody got time for that :)

I have been here before also! Not knowing how to do something is OK! Always ask a friend if you need help with form, want advice, or maybe just someone to make sure your form is good. No one will judge you because of that! And you'll get better too! Maybe make a new friend, who knows!

Here is a great tutorial too on bodybuilding.com!

Please let me know if this helps out and if you'd like to see more tips and tidbits! I'll also get this up on the blog! :D

Have a great day!

Fab Finds! : Last Weekend happenings & Lotsa Bargains!

Hey everybody!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and week this week! I know mine was pretty good too! But it is what you make it! And after a hard but amazing end to the week after Veterans Day, I needed a weekend of fun!

I finally get to tell you guys my new and amazing news! I have been working on this process for a long time! And when I tell you a long time, just trust me lol. And the timing of everything was finally perfect!

It is amazing how when you let go of control in your life, things just start to happen like you would never know. Food for thought! But hold that thought, I will get to it I promise!

After finding out my great news last week, I went shopping with a friend and found some really amazing deals while we were out! Marshall's is one of my favorites places to shop nowadays, because well...I have gotten to be quite frugal. I definitely don't spend like I used to and that is definitely for the better! Now I find great things for great prices and not only am I happy but our budget is happy too!

So first, I was looking for a few pairs of leggings for the Jiu Jitsu classes, and because I only have one "good" pair of leggings for workouts that really fit still haha, I need more for winter considering it is in the 10-30 degree range right now (has been for the past two weeks!). i have a feeling winter is going to be horrible! The couple pairs I have from Aeropostale are getting too small I well, all areas now lmao!

So I went to Marshalls Friday night after my workout and before the grocery store and found this great deal! Original $60, priced for $20!!!

And the Xsmall is what I'm wearing. I was really skeptical but I am glad I bought these. They are a bit more high waisted on me but my torso is really short. And they weren't too tight in the calves either. And that's saying something because my calves are finally getting bigger. Woot!

And on that note, I went boot shopping this weekend! My calves are definitely getting bigger! I saw this gorgeous pair of suede over-the-knee boots at Target that I so would've bought (don't judge me!) but they barely fit around my pants and calves! Maybe if they discount them more here in the next few weeks I will buy them but not right now...sigh. But look! Aren't they pretty?? I am a huge fan of dressing up :D

It has been a really long time since I have bought boots. Honestly I kid you not, at least two years! My tall black pair officially fell apart the year before last, and really I just made do with what I had without buying new ones. So this year I decided it was time to upgrade. I have my eye on a few pair actually...And I hopefully will keep growing my selection this year. Maybe add a few of these!

These are just like the ones I tore apart over probably what was at least 5 years haha! Very clean and chic for a simple dress boot.
Then I so need these shorties because...well...I have nothing like it!
Plus with skinnies and pixie ankle pants, while I can wear them, I'm doing it!

Then of course I need a flat brown riding boot...

You know, the "must-haves" for right now!

Then maybe later, this charming boot!

I have loved these since I saw them in VS clothing catalogue a few years ago for way more than my budget would allow! lol.

Then, you have to have a combat!!!

And did I mention both of these awesome booties are from Target?!

Oh yeah so I actually bought a few basics for starters. These dress boots that I found at Target were such a steal! I could not pass them up! Plus I love dressy boots for work...well, hold that thought haha!

And thanks to knowing a little javascript...here is the bigger image from Target's site hehe! They are really great booties!
And you want to know the best part??? They were originally $59.99, and I found them for 17.98!!!! Eeeekkkk! And they were comfortable too! Target has them for 29.98 online right here!

 I LOVE Bargains!!!

And I really, like desperately needed a pair of flat (not suede like mine) black winter boots, so I ended up getting these (I am wearing them Friday for our casual day :D)

for yet another steal! There was a sale going on that said "all winter boots 20% off!" so my friend Sandra and I asked a woman working at our location what that included. And she ended up concluding as we had, the sign was pretty vague. I classify a lot of things "winter boots." Turns out it was for the "fur" boots either lined or on the outside. BUT...she gave it to us! PLus there was a 5% Cartwheel app discount, then Sandra has a red card so we ended up both snagging a pair for around $28! Instead of $39.99!!! Boom!

Oh, then I found a pair of leopard print flats for $3 and some change when we were at Target! And I almost forgot, I found this pretty dress at Body Central for $15!

I know that some people think less of the store, but I don't care haha! A lot of the pieces you see me wearing may very well come from there. Be choosy, pick classy things, and wear it right and no one will know the difference! Like Mom always told me :)

So anyways, before I end this post let me tell you my great news!

A New Chapter

People say good things come to those who wait...well I don't believe that. ☝️Good things come to people who work their butts off to get to where they want to be. In the past few weeks and months really I have done just that. I found something I wanted and I went for it. Even with all the doubts or fears aside. I have been working on this since the spring of this year. That is why you have seen not a ton of effort on the blog and I was really trying to keep up my other pages (instagram and facebook) without a hitch, but other areas in my life; like studying for my CPT have been suffering. But that's ok! You give and take in life and this was way more important to focus on at the moment.

The timing wasn't right then, but it is now and I am jumping at it. I have been offered a position with a website design company in my town (not an hour away anymore) that I will be starting here in less than a few short weeks. I am stoked to say the least. I feel like I created this opportunity. I failed the first time I applied with this company, seriously; and didn't even get a follow-up despite my efforts, then decided to try again at the same place for something different. And I even saw this very job listing close, then open back up again, all the while I never gave up. That means I set my standards so high that I wasn't overlooked. And I did damn sure try to get to that point.

After countless hours, a lack of sleep, preparation and research, I locked in this new job last week and I couldn't be happier! I gave it my all and came out feeling like I knocked it out of the water and I hope it showed. I was even told that I of all people impressed them! It's amazing when something you work day in and day out on comes together. And the "loss of sleep" or any part of it was in no way bad at all and I wouldn't trade that effort for anything. Call me crazy but I am a damn hard worker. Putting in any less than your best never gets you anywhere. That's why I am not leaving work yet today either, after 5:30 pm on a Friday, because I has things to take care of. Work doesn't sleep. Work hard, play harder, right?

This was an opportunity not created by luck, but by your preparation and what YOU DO to get there. No short cuts, or anything less than your best, or you set yourself up for failure and that's just how it is. The best don't skate by with little work behind them! That's what happens when preparation meets opportunity. I don't believe in luck; but preparation and being ready for the right opportunity or creating it...that's another story.

All of this to say, never give up and never settle because you do NOT have to be set in one thing for the rest of your life. I am a firm believer that you should always look for new challenges and things to make you uncomfortable. Was this something that did just that??? Hell yeah it was. I had never had an interview in that form before but I smashed it.

I have had this note in the center on my work cabinet since before I knew who 1st Phorm or Andy Frisella was. Crazy right??? Everyday I look at it and even on the days where I don't believe it, I keep on. Because someone has to live the life to inspire others and that's what I am here for. To inspire you.

So I will be leaving my first ever job out of college with the state, to embark on a new phase of my life. Not only to get me closer to home but you know what you can do with 2 extra hours a day??? Ummm a lot! More time to grind, more time to inspire, more family time, study time, you name it! So if you're sitting there reading this long azz post, thanks for listening by the way but if you're out there and are unhappy where you are, know that YOU and only you can change your situation. Do it. And don't look back.

So there you have it! Now I will be able to blog even more, and share lotsa, lotsa great things with you guys! I couldn't be happier for my new chapter and am really excited to get it started!

I will be traveling home for thanksgiving next week (Tuesday after work), and Tuesday is actually my last day at work. It is pretty bittersweet like I have told a few people. But I am so excited to move on to the next chapter of my life and have more hours to spend with my sweet hubby when he comes home!

Hope you guys have a wonderful night!

Killer HIIT Cardio!

Hey guys and gals! How are you doing??? Hope everyone had a fabulous Veterans Day! I know I'm missing my main man! But nonetheless it was still a fab day!

Happy Veterans Day to everyone past, present and future who serve, have served or will serve our country and especially to my soldier and family members in the armed forces.

Real quick for this workout wednesday, I want to share with you an awesome cardio workout I did two nights ago! It was seriously killer but I loved it!

This cardio workout, no lie, will kick your butt or at least it did mine haha! Beast it out and push through it! Because I'm telling you after the first few rounds you may think "Man, this sucks!" but keep on going!! It's only a 30 sec rest in between sets and I promise it doesn't feel like long! Lol.

Let's go!

So you may have seen  the battle ropes video I posted on my Facebook page, but if not here it is! (And if you're not liking my facebook page, get your tush ova there and give it a like!)

This is the first thing I did, and good thing I put it first because you don't want this after rowing!
  • 20 long seconds of alternating ropes! Both arms then single alternating arms until that timer changes!

  • 1 min of rowing! Hop on that row machine and don't stop!
  • 30 sec jog in place or jumping jacks

--and I'm not talking slowly jog--- NO! I want you to have quick feet!
Get quicker as the time gets shorter!!!
  • then you got a rest for 30 sec then you better get set up for round 2!!!

THEN DO IT 9 MORE TIMES!!!

And this app I used to create the timer list was the Gymboss app that I talk about right here! You need this app! :) And no I am not paid nor endorsed to write this!

Don't you stop either! Push it the whole way through this one no matter what!!

And you better have a hardcore playlist haha! I put on my boxing tunes for this one because boy I needed the extra pounding in my ears! For my metal heads out there put on some Five Finger Death Punch! And this was all after back day! Burn baby!

Try it out and let me know what you think!

Hope you guys have a fantastic day!

Chili so good, you'll wanna slap yo mamma!

Hey guys and gals!

So this week, I plan to get back to normal blogging! Sorry about the lack of posts lately! Hopefully, like I said last time, I will have great news coming for you very very soon! Plus I have found somewhat of a rhythm studying too on the weekends, but that's no excuse for not getting at least one blog post up a week right?

I mean the list of drafts is SO much longer than this lol. Oops! What can I say, I have a lot to say but not a lot of time!

Anyways, today I do want to finally bring you that recipe I told you about a while ago because man it is going to come in handy for the forecasted weather this weekend! They are predicting snow for us. Ugh! This gal is not a fan of the snow!

Hope you like it! And the name cracked me up but it seriously is my mom's recipe, thus the name ;)  And boy did it turn out good! I ate it for a week and froze the rest! Score in my book for things I don't have to cook later!

Yo mammas Chili

Here is what you need:

-Two cans organic chili beans
-1 can organic kidney beans
-1 can organic black beans
-2 lbs ground turkey

I found this gem at the store the day I was making this!

 -1 package chili seasoning
-Garlic powder to season meat
(season to your taste! I always use a lot of garlic. Yum! ;) )
-1-2 tbsp Onion powder or 1/2 chopped white onion
1 tbsp Worcestershire
-Dab of ketchup
-a dash of hot sauce
-1 can organic no salt added tomatoes
-1 can no salt tomato paste
-1 cup water to thin it down

-Season and brown turkey until no longer pink
-Then combine all ingredients in a large pot. You can always throw in a bell pepper or other veggies if you like!
-Cook until boiling then reduce heat and simmer for thirty minutes to hour covered. Stirring throughout so you don't burn the bottom! (<-- Trust me! It will burn...)

Then after it's all done, you can top with cheese, chives, more onion, etc! Whatever sounds good to you!

I love shredded cheddar and sometimes saltine crackers crumbled on top, but I had no crackers so cheese was good!

Then one night (Friday a few weeks ago) I was "given permission" (LOL) to 'carb-load' before the amazing leg day I posted here, so I got creative. Haha!

And believe me I wished I'd eaten more the day and night before!

Just kidding...but grilled cheese used to be a staple in my 'diet' because I seriously couldn't cook. Not well anyways. So easy things like grilled cheese and pasta were almost every-day meals! It's a wonder I didn't weigh a ton...literally.

For this one I found a triangle of Bruschetta Jack with sundried tomato (and more) in it and I was sold! And the bread pictured is so macro friendly, I have actually been eating it regularly! Bread, like anything, is not bad in moderation. And this bread seems to really agree with me which is a plus!

That night I used the sandwich to dip into my chili and holy cow it was good! Who doesn't like a sandwich-sized-cheese-filled 'chip' to use for dipping??? Mmmmm. Now I'm hungry. Looks like it's time for lunch anyways!

Before I go I will leave you with a short but simple and powerful thought for today from earlier...You know...there will always be that one person who has something to say, either about your life or maybe clothes you're wearing that day, no matter what you do. For me, that day was today and this time it was my heels and the height. Yes they are high-er than what all of the older people in my office wear. I think they compliment my outfit, and plus I am not dressing to please anyone else but me. I am dressing for success and so that I will be taken how I choose. If I choose to wear a suit or a dress, then I'm wearing what I choose! I choose to dress professionally, sometimes with a kick of style like today; and you know the truth...if it had been anyone else, they might not have gotten the same comment. Anyways, that's a bit of a rant so thanks for listening; but the last comment from this same person (or string of for that matter) have been about how I eat. One being a continuous push for me to eat icecream (weeks after said icecream was brought into my office). People don't understand your grind...that's ok. It's not theirs to understand.

Make like a leaf and let it blow away!

And no matter what happens, keep on dressing up, showing up and don't you even think about giving up! Look good, Feel good!

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Really late weekend recap!...Promise I'm still here!

Hey Everybody!
Y'all will seriously have to forgive me for this late post! Eeeek!

Happy late Halloween! Haha! Oh well...

From the Gilmore's over the years!

Today  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and no doubt isn't the same without my PIC here. I didn't really even decorate this year (It's ok I promise). Course free time for me is pretty scare haha! We always did it together in the beginning of October, and even he said being gone just doesn't help you get into the spirit ya know? #deploymentlife ;)

Instead of Halloween, now we can say Hello gorgeous Fall colors! And goodbye in KS quicker than you can say, "damn, it's cold!" ;)

So the rest of last week and this week have been super busy to say the least! You can probably tell from my lack of posts which just isn't like me. Sorry about that! Hopefully I can tell you about why very very soon!

And I really don't have a ton of time to share everything how I want to (i.e. making pinable workouts, etc. :( ) But I can always go back and do those for you! Ideally I wanted this posted last Wednesday, but you see the way my schedule has been set up...HA! I had to take two rest days from the gym last week because of things to do (and some over the weekend) and due to my over-exhaustion from the leg day I am going to share with you from last Friday!

I took off the Friday before last for myself and to go see my trainer and family. And I still want to share this with you because it was an awesome workout! Boy was that a good idea to take off work! I got to sleep in and started my morning out with what I thought would be an awesome breakfast haha...

After scraping the majority of my waffle and half the batter batch off the waffle maker, I changed my mind lol! I made two pancakes instead with the rest of the batch, then had a grapefruit to go with them. Making waffles before coffee (like I told my hubby) is always a bad idea! I had forgotten to spray the pan!

Then I got everything ready and headed out to see my trainer for a leg day. Considering the last leg day I did with him, I knew this one was going to be GREAT! But man, did I not know how great haha!

I headed on out to see him, making the 2 and some change hour drive to my more favorite part of Kansas, Kansas City! Man I wish I lived there! It reminds me of home on a very large scale. Plus my awesome trainer is there and we have family less than 15 minutes from him. Score 2 for Rachel!

But let me tell you something...If your trainer ever says "we're doing German volume training today!" HA!!! Some of you may want to run away...really quick! :p I was already having trouble walking around right after and my legs were tight!!! and i was completely depleted by the end but MAN I LOVED IT!!!!

So let me tell you how it went...you see this parking lot? It's actually a double parking lot stretching behind two buildings if you can't tell, and you see those red bushes all the way down there...yep! All the way down and all the way back body-weight lunges as a warm-up, and tire flips and the end before calves-- but I'll get to that.

But the tire flipping is so flipping cool! You see what I did there...Haha! I know bear with my dorky phrases! I really wanted video of those but by the time I got halfway down the parking lot I remembered and there was no stopping! So maybe later. It really was an awesome booty-burning exercise!

And here's your workout of death. I have a new meaning to #trainharderthanme so you best bring your A game if you try this lol! Even my hubby said it was strength training at its best (when I told him about it)!!! Try and keep up!

**And just a hint...if you try this, the day and night before this workout you are going to want to seriously carb-load for yourself and your energy stores for this one. It's that good!**

German Volume Training

Legs Warm-up: Body weight Lunges down the double parking lot and back

ALL EXERCISES LISTED PERFORM:

10 sets for 10 reps with 10 sec rest in between each set
3-4 mins rest in between exercises

-Leg press
-Hamstring curl -up the weight for last few sets!
(If this tells you anything, I started with 30 lbs. and set 8-10 were with 50 lbs)
-Smith squats down to box (box was a foot off ground)
-leg extensions
-hack squat
-tire flip down dbl parking lot and back

This last exercise is different:
- calf raises (2 sets x50 (each)

I told you! Good luck!!

I was so dead after that workout that I couldn't even flex my legs. This is all I had! (see the face haha...it was bad!)

So afterwards, I went to see my sweet Maw Maw for a few hours since she is right down the road. I always forget to snap a picture with her! I'll have to next time.

Then I went to grab food since I was starved, and I was craving Chipotle and shopping, so I stopped by the Legends outlet mall in Kansas City. You can so eat healthy at Chipotle too! I get a bowl usually with brown rice, black beans, chicken, pico, grilled peppers and onions (tonight) and lettuce! Doesn't have to be hard. And the bowls that were made in front of me with probably a half cup of sour cream and cheese each are not gonna get you to your goals lol! I mean don't get me wrong, I use those things in moderation...key word ;)

Before dinner, I ran into Old Navy. I had forgotten there was one out there and I love Old Navy for workout clothes especially! You may have (or may not) notice a lot of my outfits come from there, usually on clearance!

The grey top was $8 and the 'Be Bold' was $3.99! Steals!! And I have been wanting the Pixie pants since I saw the commercial haha! Anyone else love those cute ankle pants?! They were definitely worth it, and on sale since the whole store was having a sale -- they were $27! Another score!

These pants are actually great for girls with muscle too because they give...they are a slightly stretchy fabric and the waist (I went up to a 2-- YES! lol-- believe it or not that's a big deal for me) wasn't that big going up a size. Usually it is and they fall off but not these! I paired them with a ruched cream blouse (picture above- sorry for the bad quality on my phone!), skinny black belt, and open sandals at the beginning of this week. And glad I did because now it's freezing outside! I seriously love those pants and will probably order a few more colors.

So the rest of the weekend was pretty typical: grocery shopping, workouts, meal prep... I found this really weird fruit (?) I have never seen at the store...

oh and the fact that I couldn't walk the day, next day, 3 days, etc. after my workout Friday! HA! I forced a rest day sunday needless to say because I literally was having a ton of trouble walking!

Good thing I bought this because I seriously needed it before the weekend was over! It was brutal! This was actually a really great find at Dillons for $1! Thanks to my friend who told me about it. SO if you do that workout up there, I will go ahead and tell you...pick up a few of these at the store haha! You're gonna need it!

And what would a weekend be without a little treat? This actually fit into my macros that night so it was great! I don't "fit treats in" a ton, just because I choose not to, but when I do it's something I want to enjoy! Usually when I have a treat, it's a meal or something, then I move on the next meal. Whatever works to keep you balanced!

And Monday, my legs were still giving out on me! I would walk down the hall and my muscles would give out haha! You know it was a badass leg day when...

Yes indeed this was me 3 days after leg day! It was bad, but oh so worth it! You have to do things that make you uncomfortable to reach the place that not many people get to. And believe me, that's on my route!

Anyways, I have a few blog posts almost ready to post (I wasn't kidding!), and since I will be off work tomorrow due to a few more appointments (pray the traffic gods grant me a lower speeding fine UGH! lol) I may try to get those scheduled to make up to you guys!

I really hope y'all have had a great few weeks! Please comment below or head over to my facebook page (Live Learn Lift Repeat) to tell me all about it! Missed you guys! :D Have a great night!

1st Phorm Athlete Search

Hey you guys! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had a pretty great but also painful weekend, that I definitely want to tell you about! (Went to see my trainer haha!)

But first, there is something I want to put out there so people who haven't seen on my Facebook or Instagram or now Twitter! Yes Twitter ;) will be able to see.

So I entered the 1st Phorm Athlete Search.

And you've probably seen me hashtagging things like #legionofboom, #1stphorm, #iam1stphorm, etc. on all of my pages. If you don't like this or this isn't your thing, then I ask you to kindly look over those, because these are all to represent this company and share the wonderful things you lovely people already see with them too, and how can I forget to teach you more about this awesome Phamily that I keep talking about! It's actually really great...I have met some amazing people so far and gotten to really reach out and inspire others and make new friends and cannot wait to keep on being a part of this #phamily because it is truly awesome! You should check it out sometime!

Anyways, I am not sure if I even have a shot. There are SO MANY amazing athletes and people who are in the running that I am just beside myself that I am actually in the running with them! I don't even consider myself an athlete! Just another gal trying to motivate and inspire others...or change the world, however you want to look at it haha...It's truly an honor to be around greatness y'all. But it's not about just this search...I want to be a part of this amazing movement and I am not stopping after this. I love everything I have learned already and really do want to continue to pursue a working relationship with them. This contest just opened my eyes to something I had NO idea existed!

How amazing is that? When you find something right under you nose that you had no idea about; then it turns out to be a friend; a companion; people who care about making a difference in others lives...this is not just a company guys and gals. It's a movement.

And I want to be on this bus!

Most of you know, at least if you've read my journey maybe you have an idea about what I am about to tell you. When I find something I love, I try to learn everything I can; put it into my life in any way possible, and not stop. And endless quest if you will to gain in every way possible, but more importantly to share it with you. With anyone who will listen. So I did. You guys let me tell you, it has been on my mind since I entered..."I want to tell everyone about this...how can I tell them?...How can I put it out there so people will notice it?"

You know, I even went looking for others' inspirational videos this weekend only to find everyone else had just done it...not what you're thinking. They just put themselves out there in whatever way they could. Some are much more intricate than others, but you know what...Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm not another famous person, I don't even have a huge Youtube following...But I am here and I am growing what I have no matter how slow it is or how long it takes me.

So I did. I just put myself out there. And guess what?? All those videos I watched this weekend...Man talk about inspiring! The fire that it keeps growing inside of me, not to win this contest...No. That's the least of my worries. I'm talking about to change people

To inspire, to motivate, to share everything I possibly can to continue to influence lives of anyone that will listen or pass me a glance. That's what I'm talking about.

So I've strayed a little off topic...I put myself out there and I want you to take just a few minutes out of your day, skim this video or really listen; just pass me that glance to tell you why this brand is so special to me.

And keep in mind, there is so much more coming. I am working on something great that hopefully will really inspire. At least the way it's set up in my head it will lol.  Anyways, here is a little about why 1st Phorm stands out so much to me. And I will tell you a little secret...I had not even tried the products when I found this brand. I actually still haven't (soon to change). That is how much they moved me.

And I hate to say "I'm sorry" for being me, so I won't; but please look past my nervousness :) I am not super strong when it comes to videos! But there is always something everyone can improve on right? Nothing great ever comes from comfort zones and this was me definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. I am not sure I even got across everything I wanted to, but you know what that's ok, because in real life...there aren't any "do-overs" -- only the here and now so do with it everything you possibly can. Then get up the next day and do it better!

I don't think there are enough words to say how much the mission and values of 1st Phorm mean to me and how much it moved me when I found them. It really did re-awaken the fire and desire to change even more than it already was. We get used to going through the motions and getting stressed out, even me, that sometimes taking a minute to stop and remember why we are here: doing what we do; where we are trying to go; why we make the choices we make to get there; is what needs to happen to reignite that passion if need be. Why we "live such an awesome life to inspire" in the first place!

I felt like they were saying exactly what I have been trying to say since the beginning; in every single thing I found from them. When I found this brand, oh man...I stayed up that night. It kept me awake at night because I was so interested and felt like I was already a member of this team. I had to find out more. And boy was I not disappointed.

I could paste the entire mission here for you to read, but maybe you should go see for yourself. Some of you know what passion and pursuing your dreams feels like, some may be on the way, and some-- it's ok -- if you just don't know yet. There will be a time.

The passion that I found in fitness and that everything I do everyday to represent the way I live, that ultimately stemmed from that...I can't simply explain it. Except it just becomes you; you don't think about it anymore after a point and you just keep going every damn day striving harder and harder for more. Because there really are no limits. To become the best self you possibly can be and to strive for success in EVERYTHING you do fitness related or not. I wish I could reach every single person and let them know what that feels like to be on that journey. To know what that feels like...It's like an addiction. A glorious addiction that never stops, but instead of draining you you gain so much from it!

I could ramble on and on, but you see the way my schedule is set up...HA! I barely had time to ramble this much. But I am. You know why? Because I care. I care about you and want you to know what I know.

Take a look for yourself and find out a bit more about them. Then let me know what you think. Tell me if it doesn't change your mind and light a fire under your...yeah. ;p

Hope you guys have a wonderful day and stay tuned for a weekend update tomorrow!

"The 1st Phorm Philosophy

Everyone Has a Dream…

It’s that crazy vision of what you truly aspire to be in life that recurs over and over and over again. The courage one must possess to go after that dream is what sets extraordinary people apart from everyone else.
Fear must be eliminated, faith must prevail and you have to trust wholeheartedly that you can achieve and become your vision. The path may not always be clear, but you can’t let that stop you from taking action to pursue the end result you believe in. Every single day you have the choice of whether to take steps toward or away from that dream, but regardless of what you choose the dream will always exist.
Success is a long journey that begins with a decision to take all of your strength, courage, faith, tenacity and fearlessly take that first step forward knowing you cannot and will not fail. That first step is followed by another and another until moving in the right direction becomes natural. It becomes a part of you and is no longer something you struggle for, its just something that you do. There are no short cuts. You have to be prepared to push on when your body is tired and your mind is screaming for you to quit. That moment is when the depth of your conviction and belief in the vision that is embedded in your soul must drive you through to create your destiny.
It is up to you to take steps against the grain, against all odds, against all negative influences, against all the nonbelievers and move forward daily with all of your heart. It is up to you to believe in yourself. It’s up to you to have the courage to be the best. It is up to you to Never Settle."
