1st Phorm Athlete Search

Hey you guys! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had a pretty great but also painful weekend, that I definitely want to tell you about! (Went to see my trainer haha!) 

But first, there is something I want to put out there so people who haven't seen on my Facebook or Instagram or now Twitter! Yes Twitter ;) will be able to see. 

So I entered the 1st Phorm Athlete Search.


And you've probably seen me hashtagging things like #legionofboom, #1stphorm, #iam1stphorm, etc. on all of my pages. If you don't like this or this isn't your thing, then I ask you to kindly look over those, because these are all to represent this company and share the wonderful things you lovely people already see with them too, and how can I forget to teach you more about this awesome Phamily that I keep talking about! It's actually really great...I have met some amazing people so far and gotten to really reach out and inspire others and make new friends and cannot wait to keep on being a part of this #phamily because it is truly awesome! You should check it out sometime! 

Anyways, I am not sure if I even have a shot. There are SO MANY amazing athletes and people who are in the running that I am just beside myself that I am actually in the running with them! I don't even consider myself an athlete! Just another gal trying to motivate and inspire others...or change the world, however you want to look at it haha...It's truly an honor to be around greatness y'all. But it's not about just this search...I want to be a part of this amazing movement and I am not stopping after this. I love everything I have learned already and really do want to continue to pursue a working relationship with them. This contest just opened my eyes to something I had NO idea existed! 

How amazing is that? When you find something right under you nose that you had no idea about; then it turns out to be a friend; a companion; people who care about making a difference in others lives...this is not just a company guys and gals. It's a movement. 

And I want to be on this bus!


Most of you know, at least if you've read my journey maybe you have an idea about what I am about to tell you. When I find something I love, I try to learn everything I can; put it into my life in any way possible, and not stop. And endless quest if you will to gain in every way possible, but more importantly to share it with you. With anyone who will listen. So I did. You guys let me tell you, it has been on my mind since I entered..."I want to tell everyone about this...how can I tell them?...How can I put it out there so people will notice it?"

You know, I even went looking for others' inspirational videos this weekend only to find everyone else had just done it...not what you're thinking. They just put themselves out there in whatever way they could. Some are much more intricate than others, but you know what...Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm not another famous person, I don't even have a huge Youtube following...But I am here and I am growing what I have no matter how slow it is or how long it takes me. 

So I did. I just put myself out there. And guess what?? All those videos I watched this weekend...Man talk about inspiring! The fire that it keeps growing inside of me, not to win this contest...No. That's the least of my worries. I'm talking about to change people

To inspire, to motivate, to share everything I possibly can to continue to influence lives of anyone that will listen or pass me a glance. That's what I'm talking about. 

So I've strayed a little off topic...I put myself out there and I want you to take just a few minutes out of your day, skim this video or really listen; just pass me that glance to tell you why this brand is so special to me. 

And keep in mind, there is so much more coming. I am working on something great that hopefully will really inspire. At least the way it's set up in my head it will lol.  Anyways, here is a little about why 1st Phorm stands out so much to me. And I will tell you a little secret...I had not even tried the products when I found this brand. I actually still haven't (soon to change). That is how much they moved me. 


And I hate to say "I'm sorry" for being me, so I won't; but please look past my nervousness :) I am not super strong when it comes to videos! But there is always something everyone can improve on right? Nothing great ever comes from comfort zones and this was me definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. I am not sure I even got across everything I wanted to, but you know what that's ok, because in real life...there aren't any "do-overs" -- only the here and now so do with it everything you possibly can. Then get up the next day and do it better! 

I don't think there are enough words to say how much the mission and values of 1st Phorm mean to me and how much it moved me when I found them. It really did re-awaken the fire and desire to change even more than it already was. We get used to going through the motions and getting stressed out, even me, that sometimes taking a minute to stop and remember why we are here: doing what we do; where we are trying to go; why we make the choices we make to get there; is what needs to happen to reignite that passion if need be. Why we "live such an awesome life to inspire" in the first place! 

I felt like they were saying exactly what I have been trying to say since the beginning; in every single thing I found from them. When I found this brand, oh man...I stayed up that night. It kept me awake at night because I was so interested and felt like I was already a member of this team. I had to find out more. And boy was I not disappointed. 

I could paste the entire mission here for you to read, but maybe you should go see for yourself. Some of you know what passion and pursuing your dreams feels like, some may be on the way, and some-- it's ok -- if you just don't know yet. There will be a time. 

The passion that I found in fitness and that everything I do everyday to represent the way I live, that ultimately stemmed from that...I can't simply explain it. Except it just becomes you; you don't think about it anymore after a point and you just keep going every damn day striving harder and harder for more. Because there really are no limits. To become the best self you possibly can be and to strive for success in EVERYTHING you do fitness related or not. I wish I could reach every single person and let them know what that feels like to be on that journey. To know what that feels like...It's like an addiction. A glorious addiction that never stops, but instead of draining you you gain so much from it! 

I could ramble on and on, but you see the way my schedule is set up...HA! I barely had time to ramble this much. But I am. You know why? Because I care. I care about you and want you to know what I know.

Baby got BACK! ...Now at least ;)

Happy HUMP day everyone! Or as I like to say, PUMP Day! Course every day (almost) is PUMP Day! lol. All my lifters out there you feel me? 

How are you guys doing today??? I feel like it's been forever since I've posted lol. Dunno why! Maybe because there are some exciting things going on in my life! I will have to write a separate post about that but head on over to my instagram or Facebook page for now and check it out! #legionofboom ;)





And no I don't mean that hump ;) Gotcha there!  



Here is one exciting thing-- not the big thing but it's aight! ;)



I'm on twitter now! Lol! Never thought I'd come over to the dark side but heck yeah! Gonna be tweeting it up! Lol! That's all I need is to be able to tweet all of my rando thoughts haha! 

Anyways!

And even then, you don't have to be a lifter to get a little muscle pump going. Ladies, you know you all want to rock those tank tops and sleeve-less dresses next spring and summer, am I right? Or maybe look sexy in that sleek dress or rockin' outfit this fall! Whatever floats your boat! So what better accessory than to have a great back and shape to show off with it! No better time than the present to start building a sexy back to make your waist look smaller! That is what the great illusion is all about! Gotta have a broader back to get ya there!


So I know if you are like me, a year ago I would have said NO WAY to picking up anything heavier than my purse, because I was not getting bulky...right? WRONG! 

Ladies and gents let me tell you a secret-- all you ladies want to get toned and all the fellas (If I have any reading haha) want to get rippped, am I right? Well, those cardio machines and 5lb dumbbells won't do it for you (for long!). What lies under that shape and tone for a lean, sexy gal or guy is...*drum roll please* ...MuScLe!!! And to build that muscle up, got have to go pump that iron. Whether you are starting out with 5lbs or less, like I did; you have to start somewhere.


There are some great things that you can do to build or only tone your back, even if you are just starting out. Check out these moves, or some of the wokrouts below:
Depending on your goal, you could start with a few sets of each, for 10-12 reps.

**And ladies, as a side note: you back will not look the way it does after a lifting session, on a normal day-to-day basis :) So don't be afraid to lift those weights!**


This was after a lifting session (top) where I seriously pounded the weights for an hour and a half! I PROMISE you won't walk around looking like this lol! My back is one of my absolute favorites to work so I am always trying to build it up; and even this has taken me a year and a half to get to!


Now because back day is one of my favorite days, I always (on everything really) will mix up what I do. Most of the time, I never repeat an exact routine in the same order, unless it's been at least a week or two between times. I get bored easily so I switch things up! Your body loves a good shocking and this is how you will keep seeing results!

So here are two great workouts for you to try! 




Burn that Back Workout



Warmup: 10 min intense elliptical on 9 incline and 6 resistance

Back workout:
  1. Pull-ups on assisted machine - 1 set 10 for Warm-Up, then 3 sets to failure
  2. Seated middle narrow grip cable row SS standing low to high (yes I made this up lol) cable row with rope, 3x10 for both exercises (sets of 4 if you're feeling frisky!)
  3. Neutral-grip Dumbbell rows on bench (3rd set: drop weight and do 1 burn out set) SS selectorized rear delt flys, 3x10 for both exercises
  4. Standing Straight arm cable pull down 3x10 SS weighted side bends w/plate 3x15
  5. Weighted Hyper extensions 3x15 (I used plate)
  6. Deadlifts 3x10

Slow and Steady Back workout

Warmup: 10 min treadmill, walk/jog
  • 30-45 sec rest in between each set 
  • -all HEAVY weights-
  1. Selectorized row machine 2x12 overhand, 2x12 neutral grip
  2. Seated narrow grip rotating high row 3x15 - 5 middle, 5 left side, 5 right side
  3. Seated cable pullover 3x12
  4. Standing low-to-high cable row with rope attachment 3x10 SS neutral grip dumbbell row on bench 3x10 (see above video list for both)
  5. Barbell deadlifts 4x10
  6. Plate side bends 3x15
  7. Standing plated Russian twists 3x20 or until it burns...

      Think again.

      So I came across a status update on my personal Facebook page today that I HAVE to shed light on.

      I saw this picture that someone posted as motivation 


      We all love a little JLo right?? Rockin' bod and she seems so stinkin' down to earth! It's taking me forever to build even close to those curves and she's got it goin on! 

      The picture was followed by a comment something to the effect of, "Ugh it's totally unrealistic! Must be nice to have personal chefs and personal trainers!!!!"






      WHOA! Like...just wait a second. 


      Having a fit physique is not unrealistic! Even having abs is not unrealistic if you want to look that way! (That shouldn't be the main goal in mind, but still- another post not for this page lol). Or maybe you just want to look cute in that bikini next year but keep your curves girl or guy! You don't have to have a personal chef and trainer to get a fit body or to get in the shape you have always wanted! Or to even drop a few lbs or inches off that waist! And you DON'T HAVE TO STARVE!!!! (Look for a follow-up post on that point here soon!)


      All you have to have is the drive and determination and then to MAKE the decision to do it and just keep doing it! And give it TIME!!!! Results don't happen overnight! It has taken me over a year and a half to get to where I am and I am no where near where I want to be! But I am so stinkin' proud of how far I've come. And guess what I did differently than anyone else???

      I didn't give up. I made the choice and stuck with it. A year and a half later...is it easy??? Heck no! But is it possible? YES YES YES it is and you will find SO much fulfillment by doing something for you that makes YOU feel good! Lift weights? sure! Run around the block, or a marathon? Go for it! Want to do crossfit? DO IT!!! Whatever you do, just do it and make yourself happy!

      I work an hour away 8-5 every single day driving two hours a day, and still make time for myself in the form of the gym. I eat more than your average male (probably) and I have treats and things I love often! I am normal just like you! You don't have to train as hard or long as I do but 30 minutes before or after work IS feasible from everyone. Even making healthier choices is do-able! People all the time meal prep so they won't get caught without healthy choices including me every single week. No it's not expensive either- I have heard that one before too and I can give you or show you a meal plan that isn't going to break the bank! And this is for anyone! You can do it without all the glitz and glam many celebrities have. Check out my journey if you like! I didn't start out looking the way i do now...

      And you know...I touched on this, this past weekend as well. I live for people to tell me that something can't be done. Not really but it just gets my motor running when anyone tells me that something can't be some when it comes to health and fitness. You give me less than 5 minutes and I will tell you how it can be or just let me show you. Not about how bad you want it, it's about getting rid of those excuses and just doing it. Get rid of the I can't and just do the damn thing. #word





      Bottom line, if you think it can't be done-- you're wrong. Come chat with me I swear I will have your mind changed. It's near and dear to my heart and I will not stop trying to change people's lives! And by all means, if this is not for you and you're happy in your skin, then amazing! (this wasn't for you ;) ) Keep on rockin' with yo bad self!

      The real truth...

      Good Monday morning afternoon! 

      So first, I have to share something hilarious to brighten your Monday morning! A friend texted me this, this morning and I literally laughed out loud. All of you fit girls out there will really appreciate this one especially my fellow members of the "itty bitty titty committee" ;) HA!


      Too funny! Don't we all want more boobage? I know that is the first thing to go when I start exercising! Sad day! 

      So now that you've had a good laugh, my Monday post is coming from a comment I found on my instagram this morning, because I really want to draw attention to this. Yes there are a lot of "spammers" on instagram, and I get comments like this one all too often for my liking; but you know what?? Spam or no spam, this is a teaching moment that I can use to educate others. This, spam or no spam, represents my decision to stand behind what I believe in no matter what and who doesn't like it. 

      And I do want to point out that I don't normally call people out but I have had so many people either ask me if I use products or try to sell me on gimmicky products that I have to say something. So nothing against this person specifically but the point will be made. And I actually have a post about this same thing that was definitely more of a rant (I never posted it), but I like this one much better and especially for a Monday #motivation post!

      So here is the comment I was telling you about...



      And the real, honest-to-gosh truth is, I do not and never will use waist trimmers, wraps, or any product line like this or herbalife, beachbody, or anything of the sort. I do not ever rely on these type products to see my results and you shouldn't either. I decided this a long time ago, and have and will continue to stick to what I believe in so strongly. 

      I know plenty of people who do use and have much success with product lines like Beachbody and Herbalife, but honestly, and again, it is just not my thing. And another truth is, I can't make your decisions for you. I cannot come to your house and make your choices for you, slap the unhealthy food out of your hand (lol), and be there with you every step of the way. Not possible nor am I your mom. Only you are the one who can convince yourself that you CAN do it no matter how much hard work and time it takes. 

      I am choosing not to touch on the fact that some people use these aforementioned product lines as a "jump-start." Like I mentioned earlier, people will make their own decisions and even further, everyone will respond differently to different things. This is not the topic at hand and I am leaving it right there. Feel free to message me about this and we can chat on that subject...


      What people really need to know is that, over time and with hard work and dedication is where you will see results. Not from a quick fix or product line that will promise you results. Like I said before, only you can make the choices that will lead to the outcome. 


      Damn those genes...


      Having said all that, I want to touch on this...Yes, I have a naturally thinner waist thanks to my mom for those genes and for the way my body is framed. I have a naturally small/thinner frame and am not "big boned" at all.  But I have to work hard to keep extra body fat off my waist because guess what? I'm just like everyone one of you, and especially the women who gain around the waist and hips first. I am here to tell ya, women naturally carry more weight around those areas due to our child-bearing nature and the body's physiological response to this predisposition. Yes we hold more weight in those areas because our bodies are designed for child-bearing. Sorry mommies, that is just the way it has been and will always will be. 

      So this means we have to work harder. All of us, including me. My waist, hips, and thighs (butt included) are my areas and yes I can gain body fat too. Don't think that just because I was "skinny" all my life that it means I can't gain weight. I can. And it does catch up with you. So the better you eat, the more work you put in, the more sweat and tears that come from it...that's where the change is going to come from. Not from some product promising you fast results. 


      Yes I supplement with a few products regularly and would love to do another post explaining each product and why I use them. But honestly and some people may not like this-- anyone who has a brain will tell you your diet Is the #1 thing that will determine your results. Not the supplements that do just that-- supplement my diet. I could give up every single one of the things I use to supplement my training and would still see almost the same results. There are a few things that aid my training style and nutrition, but nothing gives me the results I see like training my buns off and eating right day in and day out. 

       And I want to share with you, a picture I had taken this weekend that I almost didn't share. Yes, it's a little more skin than I normally show; but, hell if and when I compete one day everything is going to be out for the world to see anyways so what the hell. This is real and this is me, no filters or editing just showing it like it is. 



      I like to take progress pictures every month (and selfies quite often :p) because I send them to my coach, and I also keep track of it myself. This month, it wasn't perfect by any means an I'll be honest...I was sore as heck this past week and when I woke up Saturday morning I was puffy and holding on to extra fluid because I was so sore (you can really see it below). Not very often are my abs that sore, but I trained them hard last week. And not every progress shot or every day is going to be perfect. Don't compare yourself to someone's highlight real, because everyone has days and times that aren't perfect. But that's the beauty of the journey.       I can tell (and my coach) that I am getting leaner but staying the same weight (adding muscle). And this is what I really look like, relaxed, no editing, and no gimmicky products. It has taken me over a year of hard work and consistency to see shape like this; and most recently, more hard work like doing cardio, which I hate. But that is the truth...you won't love every aspect of it, but it all matters in the end. 



      So the truth, the facts, the real solution to getting in the shape you want will never lie in a product line, a waist trimmer, or wrap. It will never come from any product along those lines. There is nothing short of blood sweat and tears, eating the right foods, and training harder than you've ever trained before to break that barrier to where you can become your best self. My best self is pushing past all limits and taking my mind and body to a place that I've never been before. Consistency and dedication eating clean, and lifting heavy ass weights are what gets me my results. No excuses and no reliance on products ever. I am not here to sugar coat things either, just to simply tell you what you need to hear. 

      Every person will have a different goal, whether it is to run a marathon, fit into that little black dress, or just be able to walk around the block without giving out. I am here to tell you that you can do it. All it takes is you making that choice and repeating it ever single day. 



      Dig deep, give up all of your excuses, and make that choice. And I hope each and everyone one of you has the best Monday today!

      Flat Out Pizza Friday!

      Whoa man! Where has this day gone?! Those are my exact thoughts right now. Being out sick yesterday sure does make for a busy Friday workday! And I really do still have ump-teen-million draft blog posts to finish for you guys! I guess in between studying this weekend, appointments, and the usual sha-bang I can try to get at least one ready!


      I swear the more effort I put in the longer they take, but in the long run it is worth it to me, for you, to have the very best videos, pictures, tutorials, or whatever it may be. I don't half-'butt' anything! ;)

      But the good news is, here in just one short hour I can say...


      And head to the gym! Wahoooooo! Anyone else on this 8-5 work grind feel me?

      So you may also be scrolling way past all this already to see this yummy goodness that is about to be a super easy recipe for you to make possibly tonight or one lazy day this weekend! 

      I know it was my go-to the other night! It was one of those late nights after the gym, look in the fridge going "man I really don't want to cook!" kinda moments. But you know what, sometimes those make for the best recipes! Or well....sort-of recipes! I hate even calling it one because it is SO easy to make!



      So like I said it is super easy and you can probably use what you have left over in the fridge! And despite the pictures, I made 1 pizza! And depending on your carb amounts (low v high) you can use 1-2 wraps!

      Here is what I used:

      - 2 Flat Out Italian wraps
      - 5-6 oz lean ground turkey (already browned)
      - 1/4 cup tomato sauce 
      (use more if you like heavy sauce.)
      - chopped mushrooms ( I would guess 1/4-1/2 pckg)
      -chopped tomato would have been great! 
      - shredded mozzarella for top
      - I will use cottage cheese next time!

      And I actually had these regular wraps, but they do make 'light' also. I found the light ones at walmart this past weekend!


      First, I sprayed a cookie sheet with coconut oil, put the wraps on the pan, and warmed them up for 5 mins on 350.

      Then layer up all of your ingredients however you like! I do the sauce, the cottage cheese (I was so hungry I forgot last time lol!), meat, then veggies, then usually turkey pepperoni (they were bad :( ). You definitely want to wait to add the cheese!

      After you are all layered up, pop that sucker in the oven on broil for 5-7 minutes depending on what you put on it and how fast your oven gets hot. Example: our gas stove heated up a lot quicker and would burn things faster than our electric oven now. Sad day! I miss that gas stove! Anyways. 

      After you think it is warmed up and the edges are crispy (don't cook it too long now!), then add the cheese and broil for another 3-5 minutes max! Watch it this time and use your timer, because I am the worlds worst at almost burning things haha. But this time it came out perfect! Just WATCH the timer! Hehe. 

      **NOTE: If you use only one flat out wrap, you will probably not want to cook it as long!**


      Then wa-la! Cleaner and healthy Pizza for one! Haha, yes I ate this entire thing! Looks big doesn't it? Nah! Those wraps aren't huge but this angle makes it look that way though! Ok...we are stopping there :o LOL

      Shoulder Smash Saturday!

      Hey e'ery body! 

      Phew it's Wednesday! Thank God! lol. So today's post is going to be short and I apologize for that. I love writing long posts but have a ton of work to get done today. It's been pretty rough for me lately so I am trying to do my best to keep my head up and stay positive :) Say a prayer for me if that's your thing, I would really love that. You guys are awesome! And do stay tuned because I have a pizza and boxing post coming soon! 

      Alright now for another good shoulder routine from this past Saturday!


      This has been my motto lately..."When nothing goes right, go lift." And I was highly upset last night (which made my mood worse actually) that a meeting I had lasted through the time I was going to use to box. The room with the heavy bag was probably closed by the time I got into town again from post and I was not happy about that at all! So I will probably add that into the end of my back day tonight. I mean I like being around other people and hate to be rude, but damn, lol...me time needs to happen or else Ima have a problem. ANYWAYS! Sorry to rant to you guys some...that's why I don't call this a 'professional' blog. 


      :D So where were we? Oh yeah...workout.

      And I have to tell you about a bar I found this weekend!! A favorite brand of mine that I literally had to stop eating every single day. 


      Over the weekend, and before going to dinner one night, I grabbed this baby for from the store. Needless to say I was on a tight schedule and was #hangry on the way home so I ate it and OMG it was so good! Dark Chocolate turtle!!! Do yourself a favor and go get one...now. ;)

      One more thing before I go...this was on my mind as I was finishing this up.

      So...you know it's a sign when you get through writing a post and you mood just changes. Without going into the 'poor pitiful Rachel' from this morning, who was late to work, not feeling good, and just all around kinda down because of insert x reason here; I really can tell that this is my passion. I truly love sharing all things fitness and health with people and really do love every part about it; blogging, training, writing workouts and plans, studying the material, etc. I know this is what I want to do, and it is killing me that I have to put this all to the side because of daunting life tasks like my two hour drive to work. Losing sleep takes a toll on me, but I often lose sleep to share things with you and contribute to my hobby and passion that I love so much. Hard? Yes, very hard. Worth it? It is worth every second that I spend doing this instead of something that might be more important to someone else. Not to say that I put this first...that's not what I mean because I have a family and all just like everyone of you. Maybe a fellow blogger or person sharing in my fitness passion can understand what I mean. 

      And you know what is crazy...I didn't mention it above but I stayed later after that meeting last night for a particular reason. I stayed and without a problem, actually walked out smiling and "ok" that I knew I was going to miss my workout because, I was talking to an individual about their personal fitness goals and where they wanted to be. In a room otherwise filled with people who actually don't know these things about me at all really (I choose not to broadcast it), I found an opportunity to share my passion with someone and try to give them some advice, offering my help, so that hopefully they can get closer to their goals. I'm not certified (yet) but that doesn't mean I won't take every chance I get to share what I love and try to help others. 

      That's how, or at least one way you know you've found your passion. Do what makes your heart happy, even if you lose sleep, or maybe friends; you cannot ignore what you love. 



      And one day I'm going to be able to make this happen. One day. Until then, we keep going and even on the bad days try to realize how blessed and lucky we are to be where we are. 

      I feel like I should apologize for the randomness of this post, but I'm not going to. It's all part of the journey and my life; the good days and the bad, and every one in between. Thanks for letting me open up to you guys a bit today. It sure does make me feel better.

      Jeans that Fit Girls who Lift!

      Holy moly I don't know if I have ever been more thankful for a Friday! It seems like that is a recurring theme in my posts...hmmm. 


      Anyways, instead of dwelling at all (anymore) on the why there, I have exciting news for you guys, well ladies! Sorry fellas!




      So since more than 3 weeks ago my jeans haven't been fitting so well. No way to sugar coat it, squats do a booty good but they also make your skinny-girl jeans not fit anymore. And let's face it, all of my jeans are were pretty much skinny girl jeans! Haha! You may remember this picture...

      No ifs, ans, or butts...literally though. No butts... ;)

      This pair in the center already was sold to a local resell shop!


      And I probably do spend at least 5-10 minutes some days trying to find pants that fit and match my outfit; because working at the Buckle for 3 years almost does that to you. You learn to match your pants to your outfits, really well I might add. And that doesn't work so well when half of your pants are fitting past mid thigh if you are lucky that day! I can't help but laugh when I type this; is anyone else laughing at a similar experience?

       definitely before I caved and bought a mirror haha!

      Or most days lately when my pants don't fit, I have been grabbing my Guess Brittany skinnys! I will post more info on some good Guess jeans below, but I am not sure they make this fit anymore. :( 

      So point: Rachel can no longer wear her pants! LOL! 


      And a while back I saw +Taylor Simpson post (can you tell I love following her??) about these amazing dark denim blue jeans she found that actually fit curvy ladies! She found a fit at Gap called the 'Curvy fit' that actually makes "skinny girls look curvy" according to a store associate I spoke with last weekend when I went looking for said pants. I prefer any alternative to "skinny" at this point but we won't open that can today! ;) 

      So here is the pic for ya to see!

      And much to my dis-pleasure, I found that these pants are being discontinued, and they only had (at the beginning of a HUGE sale) 5 pairs total in the entire store ranging from the smallest to the largest size possible. 

      Score = 0 for Rachel finding said pants.

      But! I did find what I think is a great alternative! You be the judge...



      YAY for pants that fit!! And y'all, I mentioned earlier I worked at the Buckle...I am PICKY about how pants fit, but I can honestly say that I like these. And a REALLY like them for how much I paid...Any guesses???

      $5.81!


      Nope I am not kidding! They were on sale for $7 something and the whole store was 40% off! Yes please! Too bad this was the only (literally) size I could find on sale. But I count it as a win!

      Score Rachel = 1 for pants that fit and look good! 
      Score 2 for one heck of a deal! 

      If you can't tell, I am a serious bargain shopper! 

      So, before I let you go I actually want to tell you why I like these pants...Honest opinion and maybe a review so-to-speak. 

      This fit is called the Sexy Boot fit from the Gap. When I put these on in the store I knew I liked them. 

      One thing that has stuck with me from the Buckle and I value SO much is knowing what fabric blend works best (for me anyways). I knew when I tried these on that they were a cotton-poly blend without even looking at the tag. The cotton and polyester blend of fabric will allow your jeans to hug your body, thus fitting perfectly, and still allow for movement all day long without stretching out! Ever get to the end of the day and your jeans are 'sagging in the butt' as much as you are dragging? Yeah, no one likes a 'saggy butt!' ;) They have a tiny bit of spandex in them so they do stretch/give just slightly with your body movement! So yes, they have a tiny bit of stretch, but remember they also stay fitting until you're ready to hit the hay! 

      Note 2 for loving these pants was the softness! The fabric blend and the close fit of these jeans is a perfect combo for this lady! One of my all time favorite brand jeans is Big Star Denim because they fit amazing and use this same sort of blend in their jeans. I won't go too far into it but some Big Star denim is Italian so it is even softer because of the process used to make the denim! #nerdout

      The fit was obviously a huge selling point for me too! These jeans allow for room in the thigh, but still have enough room in the hip for the growing glutes! So I would not actually consider this a "skinny" fit of denim. I would say it is more of a regular fit, but the fabric blend does allow for more give if needed. Also, I have a problem with "gapping" in the back of the waistband. If you have a small waist, you may have this problem too. I always needed jeans that were 'inset' fitting so that they would not gap in the waist. These are slightly inset, so for me even without a belt I could wear them without the constant nagging of having to pull them up. I do love wearing a belt though, so as you see in my picture I am wearing one. The only thing about this fit that I would say is something to point out, is the bootcut is very bootcut; meaning they are made slimmer around the calf. Not skinny jean slim as you can tell in my picture above, but they are a tad snug. I will probably opt for a regular opening next time around out of personal preference, but these will be great here in a week or two with boot weather!

      So there you have it! 
      Great fit, soft, perfect fabric, and a great bargain!

      And even more importantly, they fit my muscles!!!

      And I want to share another denim fit before we go for the day, that was pointed out to me by a fan on my page! I hope she doesn't mind, but this is good knowledge!! :D Thanks for sharing friend!
